Technical notes

A location QR code encodes a standard geographic link in the geo:latitude, longitude format. When a phone scans it, the device's map app opens and shows that exact point directly; it's a fast way to share a store, event or meeting point without typing an address.

Coordinates are entered in decimal degrees (e.g. 41.0082,28.9784) and latitude is always written before longitude. The number of decimal places sets the precision: more digits point to a more exact spot.

The geo: link isn't tied to a specific map service; the device opens the user's default map app. So you can't dictate which map opens, but the location shows the same point in all compatible apps.

This tool makes a static QR and relies on no server. If you want to point to a business page or menu, use the menu QR code generator or the general QR code generator.
